19. KRAKOW MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL – ticket sales have begun

19. KRAKOW MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL – sale of passes has started

The Krakow Mountain Festival will be held in the traditional formula on the weekend of December 4-5. At the same time, for the entire month (December 1-31), an online platform will be available on playkrakow.com, which will feature most of the films participating in the two festival competitions, Polish and international, as well as some of the guest speakers and workshops.

Purchase of passes

This year only two types of passes will be available at KFG, Hybrid passes and VOD passes – as announced by the organizers – at revolutionary prices.

Hybrid pass (PLN 99) provides access to ICE Krakow during the weekend of December 4-5 and to the playkrakow platform.com (you will receive a special access code after purchase) throughout the month. You can buy it here:

The first 100 people who buy a Hybrid Pass will receive a Brubeck wool multifunctional sling, a Nikwax kit and a 50% discount on the purchase of a festival T-shirt as a gift! Detailed information on Hybrid Passes can be found HERE.

VOD passes (PLN 69), providing access ONLY to the online platform, will be available soon on playkrakow.com. Detailed information on online access can be found HERE.

Films

This year, festival participants will have the opportunity to see a record number of films – over 50, including many premieres! A weekend is definitely not enough to see them all, so pass holders will receive codes for playkrakow.com, and thus access to a rich database of festival material throughout the month.

The Alpinist – special screening

For festival participants who will visit the ICE Krakow Congress Center on the weekend of December 4-5, the organizers have prepared a special show. On the big screen we will be able to watch another superproduction of the class of films such as “Free Solo” or “Dawn Wall”.

“The Alpinist” is a film portrait of an exceptional climber from Canada, Marc-André Leclerc, who left us far too early. The filmmaker is Peter Mortimer, director of the award-winning film “Dawn Wall”. This is a film that is definitely worth seeing in the cinema hall, on the big screen.

Marc-André Leclerc loved climbing, and the mountains undoubtedly occupied a central place in his life. He has made many great crossings and amazing solos, including in Patagonia (e.g. on Torre Egger). He was one of the best climbers of his generation, sadly died in 2018 while climbing in the Mendenhall Towers massif.

They will include: Sylvia Vidal, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll, Anna Tybor, Krzysztof Wielicki, Jozef Krištoffy, Yannick Graziani, Aleksandra Miroslaw, Marek Raganowicz, Piotr Pustelnik, Janusz Majer, Grzegorz Folta, Łukasz Kocewiak, Kacper Tekieli.

The festival will also not lack the workshop part, which has been extremely popular for years. The trainings, conducted by experts in their fields and experienced instructors, will cover mountain safety, mountaineering techniques, ski mountaineering, first aid and climbing training.

The program of lectures, demonstrations and workshops can be found on the festival’s website – kfg.en.

Fair

This year’s KFG will feature the largest equipment fair in the festival’s history. In the modern space of the ICE Krakow Congress Center, leading mountain and outdoor brands will present their offerings. You will also meet some of OM’s editors there.

This is, in a nutshell, this year’s attractions of the Krakow Mountain Festival, which, after a very warm reception of last year’s online edition, will be held for the first time in a hybrid version, combining the advantages of both.
